The pyramids of Egypt are one of the biggest legacies that we have inherited from the ancient Egyptians, especially the three great pyramids of Giza. They are indeed the most impressive and emblematic pyramids of that old civilization.
The pyramid was at first destined to be a shelter for the king, but later the relatives of the sovereign thought it would be good to make of it a burial pyramid. Khufu seems to have been the first one to allow his women to have such a nice tomb.
the pyramid-shaped stone hosts one or many internal rooms connected by corridors. They have became the tombs of kings, queens and great men of the old Kingdom.
The Great Pyramid of Giza, built by Cheops (or Khufu), is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, if you are visiting Egypt there is absolutely no way you won't be tempted to visit it.
