The Bolshoi troupe was founded in 1776. At the beginning, the company was only performing in private placesbut in 1780 it acquired the Petrovsky Theatre and began producing plays and operas. Since its inception, the Bolshoi Theater hosted so many historical events, such as the famous ballet of Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov compositions.
